Awaken Your Inner Yogi With 5 DIY Disinfecting Yoga Mat Sprays

It's no secret how much I love to practice yoga. In the past 6 years, yoga has done more for my mind, body, and soul, than the combined efforts of a pain doctor, an orthopedic surgeon, a psychiatrist, a guru, and any other professional that could be inserted here. My journey to a healthier and hippier lifestyle hasn't just included herbs, essential oils, and healthy whole foods. It's also been about reviving my body after a lifetime of damage and helping me to cope with the many aches and pains that go along with everything that my spinal cord has been put through. (You can learn more about my medical journey here.) Yoga has been the catalyst for reshaping the way that I look at health and exercise. It has become more than a passion, but a way of life.

Is Your Febreze Air Freshener Making Your Family Sick? DIY Non-Toxic Room Sprays Spring/Summer Edition

One of my favorite things about springtime is being able to open the windows and let out all of the stale winter air. Freshening up the air is but a window push away, but sometimes I like to freshen the air and give it that summer smells using my homemade non-toxic room sprays! Last fall, I shared my favorite Fall/Winter room spray blends to help you  freshen your air, and promised I would share my spring/summer blends too! While the fall time scents are about warming and spice, summertime blends are all about tropical islands, summertime breezes, and summertime romance!

Hippy-Hoppy the Healthy Homemade Chocolate Easter Bunny

For many families across the United States, Easter is a holiday that is equated to lots of chocolate. Chocolate eggs, chocolate chicks, and most of all chocolate bunnies. As a child, my mother avoided most of the sugar that the rest of the kids around me got for Christmas and Easter. She did this by filling our stockings and Easter baskets with all sorts of little goodies we could use instead. For my child, I am trying to do a combination of what my own mother did for me as well as making sweet little goodies I know are healthy, with ingredients I trust.

Turn Up The Heat A DIY Sensual Soy Massage Candle

During the holiday season, I received a soy massage candle as a gift. One day before a massage, I decided offhandedly to try it out. I was a little bit apprehensive at first, that pouring hot wax onto my body would be too hot for my skin, but it turns out soy wax burns at a cooler temperature than paraffin wax, so it didn't burn at all. In fact, it was the perfect amount of heat and I really enjoyed it.

Homemade Clay & Beeswax Holiday Ornaments

One of my favorite holiday traditions that my mom and I would do together every year, was to make handmade and hand painted ornaments. Every year we would go to the local craft stores and get all of our supplies, then we would make an afternoon of it together, molding and shaping, painting, and glittering our creations. Some years we purchased ornaments that simply needed painting, while other years we got creative and turned pine cones into ornaments. To create diversity on our tree, we always liked to mix it up every year and make different types of ornaments. I have totally been wanting to continue the tradition with Syfy, and this year we made two different types of ornaments. I was hoping to make  ornaments that we could also add a bit of aromatherapy too because you know how I love to turn everything into an aromatherapy moment.

What’s in Your Wax Melts? DIY Non-Toxic Wax Tarts

Have you seen those cute little blocks of square wax tarts that seem to pop up everywhere, at every  festival, carnival, and mall kiosk that you pass by? I see these wax tarts EVERYWHERE that I go. I love the idea behind wickless candles and diffusing scent throughout my home, but whenever I pass by one of these stands, I can not seem to get a straight answer from any representatives on the actual ingredients list for these Scentsy wax melts. Finally, after seeing one too many of these stands and going into all of my friend's homes and seeing these candle warmers all over the place, I decided it was time to create my own wax tarts for my home! With as many friends and family members that own one of these, this is going to be the perfect homemade gift for everyone I know!
