Detox Away Impurities With Dirty Lemonade (aka charcoal lemonade)

Tis' the season of detoxes, workout programs, and juice fasts and I'm over here wishing all my detox options weren't so intense. I've tried the teatoxes that made my intestines cry, the juice fasts that made me realize I can't handle the feeling of an empty stomach, and even the intense diet changes that had me craving whatever it was I'd given up for the week. While I have found helpful lessons in all of my health-seeking adventures, I can be a bit lazy and prefer much gentler methods of detoxing.  Which is why I was excited to discover charcoal lemonade, or as I like to call it; dirty lemonade!

Save Money Making Your Own Herbal Hydrosols and Flower Waters

I have a secret ingredient that I prefer to use in place of the water in ALL of my DIY beauty products and toiletries. Hydrosols, aka flower waters! I first came across hydrosols in my essential oil studies. I had learned that they were a result of making essential oils, essentially a byproduct. I was fascinated by these gentle essential oil infused waters. Along the way, I learned a lot more about them and their many uses and varieties. I wanted to purchase every hydrosol that I came across but was sorely disappointed when I realized that I couldn't afford  to purchase all of the hydrosols that I wanted. Soothe Itchy Irritated Eyes Naturally With Calendula & Coconut Oil

Recently we've been dealing with all sorts of eye issues in my home. Everything from conjunctivitis to infection, and not just in the humans in our home. When Syfy became ill with pneumonia and strep throat, he also managed to spread the strep to his eyes, getting conjunctivitis too. Our pediatrician prescribed $60 eye drops, saying that they likely wouldn't work because most of the time conjunctivitis is viral, but just in case we should use the eye drops. I am not one to overuse antibiotics and am not willing to use them unless they are absolutely needed. Out of desperation, I began investigating all my herbal books, looking for the best herbs to use to help soothe Syfy's eyes and get rid of the infection. That's when I realized that I already had everything that I needed to help my family and pets with all their eye irritations!

Take Herbs On All Your Outdoor Adventures – DIY Herbal Outdoors Kit For Hiking, Camping, & Backpacking

I spent my childhood hiking, backpacking, and camping with my Dad, all over the West coast. I was the daughter that adored the outdoors and couldn't get enough, no matter how dirty or banged up, that I got. The addiction was solidified when we first started hiking through Yosemite National Park. With every trip we took, I soaked in the redwoods and sequoias, the glacier cut boulders and the majestic waterfalls that seem to only exist in Yosemite and my dreams. These trips made me realize that I was born to enjoy the outdoors and that my future was somehow going to be connected to my passion for this amazing place.
