Today Sir Silas went on an epic adventure. This brave knight did not go on his journey alone, he was joined by his most favorite Princess who's good with a bow, Merida, a faerie named Bob, and a Master Wizard who wishes to keep his identity secret. This merry crew traversed afar in search of the “great purple rectangle mountain” (a purple yoga block), for within this magick mountain lies the sword of ice, pretty much the greatest sword ever!
The beautiful bendy dolls and wooden toys that we are talking about today, are from Suzanne over at Wildflower Toys on Etsy or on her main site (You can also find her on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram). I was generously given these bendy dolls to review and giveaway, but my opinions are my own! I will only share with you products that I myself love and use personally!
That was the imaginative scene that was played out on the grass below our balcony this afternoon. Silas was playing with his new Wildflower Toys bendy dolls while I sat on a blanket and annoyingly interrupted his play with my camera clicking off. Needless to say, he was completely smitten with his new wooden toys and I was totally happy that he has safe natural toys that help build his imagination.
Faeries and Elves oh my!
I was so excited when I found Wildflower toys because all of her bendy dolls are so stinking cute that I admittedly have a list of faeries that I want for myself…not for Silas. A faerie lover himself, I just knew that Syfy would be super excited to play with any of Suzanne's beautiful toys. The moment he unwrapped them, he began playing out a story and was gone from this world, and in a different one. I had originally liked Merida so that I would have one to play with too, but it turns out she is his favorite princess because she loves to shoot a bow, like Link. I'm totally glad he loves them! I love hearing the stories he comes up with while he is playing; they are always so unique and entertaining.
Handcrafted natural wooden toys from one hippy mama to another
Suzanne grew up in Maine, one of 12 kids! As a homeschool graduate, she wanted to raise her daughters with a love for learning. “In our world of disposable, Made in China products, I wanted them to understand, to feel the difference of something made by hand. I wanted them to experience the kind of quality toys that our grandparents had…the kind that you don't just throw away.” This led her to start creating toys and clothes. Wanting to share this experience with other families too, Wildflower Toys was born. “Childhood is short and we should allow our children to remain innocent for that short time, surrounding them with things of quality and beauty.” All of Suzanne's toys are handmade (by her) on her homestead in Northern California, USA. Light boxes and Fairy Houses are designed and created by her husband, Jason.
