You might not know this about me, but I can not drive a vehicle because I can't feel my legs from my knees down (more about my medical story). This makes shopping somewhat difficult for me, especially when purchasing everything we need for our homeschool classroom. Fortunately for me, I live in an era where internet shopping is the norm and I am capable of finding everything I need with the click of a button. Last Christmas, in my efforts  to find awesome natural/Waldorf/Montessori style toys, I came across AToyGarden.com and was pleasantly surprised to find a large selection of exactly what I was looking for, natural open-ended toys and craft supplies.

The amazing natural toys that we are talking about today, came from one of my favorite natural toy shops,  A Toy Garden (You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter). I was generously given the paint jars, colored pencils, and maze book to review, but my opinions are my own! I will only share with you products that I myself love and use personally!

Mazes, paints, and colored pencils, oh my!

When I put together a list of items I still needed to get for our homeschool classroom, I knew I absolutely HAD to get Syfy a set of jars specifically to hold paints in. I went looking through AToyGarden.com and was over the moon when I found this fantastic 6-piece glass paint jar set that even comes with a really nice solid wooden paint jar holder too! Wanting to avoid plastic as much as possible in our home, I was very excited that these paint jars are made of glass instead! They were the perfect size and we had no problems with tipping because of the wooden jar holder. I also asked for the triangle shaped colored pencils and the maze book because Syfy loves, I mean LOVES, mazes. He sat down with the colored pencils and that maze book and spent a good hour exclaiming “Ha! I got it! I am the best mazer EVER.” because mazer is totally an adjective!

From an apron to a puppet theater

A work-at-home mom like myself, Soyna not only runs A Toy Garden shop from her home, but she is also a social worker, wife, and mama to her 2 kids. Having been a graduate of the Sacramento Waldorf school herself, Sonya wanted the same for her kids too. It started when her daughter was 2, she asked her to sew her an apron just like her mama's. After that it was a tablecloth and napkins, bean bags, and even a puppet theater. After this her daughters friends, her family, and her neighbors started asking for more, A Toy Garden was born.

One source for all your natural toy needs

In my search to find my favorite online shops that I can get all of our natural toys, books, craft supplies, etc. from, I was stoked to find a  shop that offers a broad selection of open-ended, natural, creative, and fun toys for children and their families. For over 12 years, A Toy Garden has offered great selection of handcrafted, Fair Trade, and Made in the USA toys. This family run business tries their best to recycle, reduce, and reuse as much as possible in their business.
