I had the privilege of being invited to one of my long-time friend's wedding and reception this last weekend. Though we weren't able to go to Colorado to make the actual wedding, we were able to go to their reception dinner held here in Texas. When our invitation arrived in the mail, my first thought was “what to make them for their wedding present?”  For a little over a year now, I have made all of the gifts that I have given at the parties that I have been invited to.  Each time, I was invited to a new type of party (i.e. baby showers, bridal showers, and wedding receptions), I came up with a new DIY eco-friendly gifts that I could give. This time around was no different.

The BEST homemade wedding gift

When I sat down to think about what gift I wanted to give to my newlywed friends, I decided that since most people give household items for wedding presents, a homemade green cleaning starter kit to clean your new home would be the BEST idea. I put the most essential of cleaning supplies in this kit, and made sure to give a little print out of the recipes so that they could remake them when they ran out of them.

In this awesome gift basket, I included:

All-Purpose Cleaning Spray

  1. Combine ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake before use to emulsify.

Lemon Wood & Furniture Cleaner

  1. Combine ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake before use to emulsify

Clothing & Carpet Stain Spray

  1. Combine ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake before use to emulsify. Spray on spot that needs cleaning and let sit 5-10 minutes before scrubbing. Important: Do a test spot first to test color fastness.

This spray is also very effective in cleaning grout, microfiber couches, cloth diapers, and even skunked dogs. You can also pour this in the bleach section of your washer, as a natural alternative to bleach. This also makes an AMAZING bleach cleaning spray alternative because this kills the same amount of bacteria and viruses as a bleach spray would.
