Summer is here and The Boyfriend, Syfy, and I have finally unpacked from our move into our new apartment! It's been a stressful two months, having to pack everything up and move right at the end of the school year, and I was in dire need of a spa treatment (and a good beer). Luckily, my friends over at Lather had just what I needed to give my skin the vacation it needed! They hooked me up with their Honey Moisture Mask w/Propolis Extract and Bamboo Lemongrass Body Smoothing duo and I supplied the beer. I had everything that I needed to get my summertime spa up and running…the only question I had was could I convince The Boyfriend to join me at the HippyHomemaker spa? The answer…YES!
This post is sponsored by the good folks at Lather. (You can also find them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). I was generously given the Honey Moisture Mask w/Propolis Extract and Bamboo Lemongrass Body Smoothing Duo to review, but my opinions are my own! I will only share with you products that I myself love and use personally!
Stress = Wrinkles
Yes…I said the “W” word. It's something I think about all the freaking time! Stress equals wrinkles, and what is more stressful than moving? I was beyond excited to get the chance to try out Lather's Honey Moisture Mask w/Propolis Extract because I felt like all of the stress of the last two months was starting to melt my face off! If you have been a longtime reader, you know I am a HUGE fan of facemasks, and one with honey and propolis extract really got me excited! The cool thing about Lather's Honey Moisture Mask is that it's MADE FOR STRESS! According to Lather, this mask is “a super-hydrating mask to relieve stressed skin that has been over-exposed to environmental pollutants and nature's harsh elements.” Exactly. What. I. Needed.
I convinced The Boyfriend to mask up
Honestly, I didn't even have to do any convincing. He was thoroughly excited to join me in HippyHomemaker spa time and even agreed to let me take a picture of him wearing the mask…could I ask for anything more in a boyfriend? Certainly…but that game takes time! LOL! Lather's Honey Moisture Mask was a HUGE hit for both of us! The moment that I opened the jar, the warm inviting scent of honey floated up to my nose and my mouth started watering. I love honey with a passion, Y'all! I couldn't wait to slather it all over our faces! Boy, were we in for a treat! This isn't the kind of mask that you wash off at the end, being a thick cream type of mask, after 20 minutes we rubbed any excess mask into our skin and watched the skin on our faces magically transform into unicorns…ok, ok not unicorns, but man did it feel like it. This mask made my skin feel super soft and supple! I am such a fan that my jar is already getting low!
Scrubbing away my dry winter skin
After transforming my face back to its youthful glow, the rest of my skin was a little jealous and I was in need of a good scrub. Thankfully, Lather sent me their Bamboo Lemongrass Body Smoothing Duo and my now smooth legs (and The Boyfriend) are seriously thanking them. The Lather Bamboo Lemongrass Body Smoothing duo contains:
- Bamboo Lemongrass Foaming Body Scrub
- Bamboo Lemongrass Body Crème
- packaged in a reusable gift box (ugh! I lost this adorable box in my move! I was saving it because it was perfect to reuse for gift-giving!)
Lemongrass is my new favorite shower ritual
I've made a lot of my own sugar and salt scrubs and even recorded live videos on Facebook and Blab teach y'all how to make your own, but there is something about receiving a scrub that you didn't make yourself. It somehow feels more luxurious. As soon as I opened the Bamboo Lemongrass foaming body scrub I was instantly transported to tropical bliss. The uplifting happy scent made my entire shower smell delightful and I was hesitant to leave such a happy space too soon. Since most of the scrubs I make are usually just oil based, I really relished the foaming aspect of their scrub. Not only did my legs come out super smooth and soft, but the scrub rinsed off my legs and out of my bathtub very easily! When I got out of the shower, I followed up with the Bamboo Lemongrass Body Crème and was delighted that the wonderful lemongrass scent lightly lingered for a little longer. I really loved how light the crème felt, going on easily and sinking in quickly. There were no greasy legs here! My legs are so smooth and soft now that I have already gotten compliments from The Boyfriend on how great they look in my short shorts!
Have you ever heard of Lather?
Being a native Californian (did you know that about me? I'm a Texan now, but I grew up, mostly, in northern California!), I have a special soft spot for California-based companies that care about the quality of ingredients that we put on our skin. So when Lather approached me to work with them, I was pretty excited because I have already used and loved their products. If you have never heard of Lather before, you should definitely check them out! Nothing describes them better than their mission:
“To offer a superior body care experience by creating products using the highest quality, effective natural ingredients, and providing exceptional services that not only treat the skin but educate the consumer.
Since the beginning, we’ve strived to inspire a healthier, more radiant life. By taking a holistic approach to skin care, placing our focus on sourcing natural ingredients and essential oils, as well as drawing upon the benefits of aromatherapy, we provide high quality products that care for the skin as well as the mind.
As our brand continues to grow, we aim to take this ‘holistic’ vision to a higher level, seeking out opportunities to give back to the community, educate our customers, sustain the environment, and support endeavors that help others lead a more radiant life.”
